An ordinary life....

Butter wouldn't melt...

Our alarm went off this morning at 7.30am and Lola was still asleep.  Result.  She finally woke up about 10 to 8.  She'd been fast asleep in her crate since 11.30pm and that fills me with a sense of relief and achievement as quite a few of her litter-mates have not taken to their crates at all.  Her sister Callie won't spend more than 5 minutes in her crate without barking the house down.  Her owner isn't getting much sleep.  We worked so hard during her first three days here to make sure she saw the crate as a place of comfort and safety and it has definitely paid off.

David's ex-work colleague Jann came for lunch.  It was really lovely to catch up with her.  She's a dog lover so was very taken with Lola, even though Lola decided today was the day to misbehave big time.

Jumping up, chewing, trying to get food off the table, stealing napkins from our laps, chewing Jann's handbag and jumper sleeve and barking!  We trotted out the age old excuse that parents of an errant child (that's what she felt like) always fall back on to excuse bad behaviour and said "she's tired."  David had a quiet word with her, got her Goldie to cuddle and sure enough, she fell sound asleep for three hours.  Phew.   We managed to get our post lunch coffee in peace.

Had reason to visit the Facebook page of the builder who built our extension this evening and got a big surprise to see the photographs his photographer took of the finished work a couple of weeks ago, featured on his FB page.  He's even used two of the shots for his profile picture and cover photo.

It feels quite strange to see the completed build from a "professional" perspective and I have to say, I am very impressed and delighted at how it all looks.   Like something from a design magazine.  It's actually a bit mind-blowing to think it is all part of our house.

I hope the inclusion of the photos in his portfolio will win him lots of contracts as they are an excellent company to work with and deserve great success.

Hahahaha....just heard some strange noises and looked up from my lap top to see David on the sofa sound asleep, Lola at his feet sound asleep and both snoring!
