Clematis tangutica

This clematis has flowered spectacularly this year. It starts off slowly during the summer, and then slowly builds up to a sudden burst of growth and flowers in August. It has covered the fence with these lovely yellow flowers, and is now clambering off into the neighbour's garden. In early spring we prune it back to about 8" tall and over the course of the season it climbs the fence and is off onto any nearby structure it can get to. It's great to find a plant that seems to love its situation.
