Red Darter Dragonfly

We had a lovely walk through a beech wood about a mile out of Provincetown this morning, and were treated to some more super blippertunities. Once more the choice of blip was tricky. In the end this macro of a damselfly won the choice; it was actually taken with my 300mm telephoto lens which I'm really pleased with.

The extras show two episodes of creatures being "caught in the act"! The first is of a couple of damselflies making babies; the second is a cute chipmunk filling its cheeks with seeds which a passer-by had put out for the birds.

Photos of  chickadees, a juvenile cardinal bird, and some frogs will have to await a flickr album as I'm running out of extras with all these lovely photo opportunities. :-)
