Day#2

The plan was to visit Paphos, last visited 13 years ago, to see if it had changed at all. Not well researched because it's a lot further than we realised and so we should have made a much earlier start.

No problem...we turned off the (wonderful) motorway towards Limassol and spent the day there. We found somewhere to park. NB D strongly dislikes paying for parking so we drive round until we found a suitable space and walked into town. First stop ...for frappés.

More walking along the front with lots to see. There's been quite a pleasant breeze today which may have been why boats were moored rather than busy and my photo shows the variety of craft available to the brave and seafaring. We also counted 13 big ships on the horizon.

A shared platter for lunch and a walk back towards the marina. Really busy here with preparation for a motorcycle festival this weekend (happy D), and the Aphrodite Games were happening. This was some amazingly strong and fit Aphrodites showing there skills with weightlifting...mmm.

The sun went down as we enjoyed delicious and beautiful presented icecream desserts. Then to head for the car and home....

Except...."we" couldn't find the road where the car had been parked. So began the hunt...and LOTS of walking. LONG story but eventually it was thought we really needed help as the next corner was not delivering. We passed a man closing his shop and amazingly he said he knew the area really well and he'd join our hunt.

He took the information we could give him and off we went together. Then, as he had his bicycle, he left us with a friend and off he went. I had a picture of the car and registration...AND ....he returned after a little while to say he'd FOUND IT! Such relief for us and huge gratitude to him. We had each prayed for help and firmly believe God sent an angel in this man.

Back onto the motorway and very happy to be home. Lessons to be learnt though and an experience not to be repeated...

Posting this belatedly again.
