Aperture on Life

Church Norton

Beaches which aren't busy are a rarity around here. Church Norton is deemed by the internet as a naturists beach, which keeps most people away. You can walk the entire Pagham Spit without meeting more than a couple of people and they're normally fully clothed!  The mistake is that it's part of the Pagham RSPB nature reserve... therefore a naturalist's beach, not a naturist one.  Brilliant for a quiet life.

I picked up Kelly, who will be Poppy's owner, and headed for the coast. She has special needs so I have to keep Poppy for a while, just until she's  grown enough so she won't be too much of a handful when she goes to her permanent home.

Kelly loves her puppy and it must be quite distressing to be ignored in favour of a game with Cocoa. Poppy is quick to learn, Kelly not so quick, but is beginning to understand that she must use consistent commands and that waffling incoherently isn't gaining control of the pup. She'll get there and I've no fear that the responsibility will do Kelly no end of good. A dog is for life and I've left Kelly with no illusion as to what it takes to look after an animal.  I am ultimately responsible should it all go the proverbial upwards, but am reasonably confident that I won't permanently have ownership of another dog.

After our walk, we headed for Portsmouth, where Kelly's grandparents live. A quick cup of tea in their company and it was back on the road.

Poppy has had two dry days in the house... a roll of paper saved! A giant leap towards her going home. :)
