Tiny Tuesday . . . Chatham Island forget-me-not

Striking blue flower
Emerges into spring rain
Stops me in my tracks

I'm very proud to have this flowering.  It was one of the first plants I planted in the new garden.  I haven't killed it and so far it is thriving in the heavy clay soil.  It grows naturally on the Chatham Islands which are 650 ks or 400 miles east of the South Island.  It makes a stunning garden plant with its thick, glossy green leaves.  There are extras today because I couldn't choose.  Probably need  note to self: don't take more than four images.
