Recycle

We've stayed in a few places that are a converted something or other: there was the fire truck in Aviemore, various barns and out buildings, and two or three train carriages. The exteriors have usually been restored and (so far) I always marvel at the imaginative use of space within.

But often the interesting bit is where the original hasn't been touched at all. So, for example, the converted carriage that we're in this weekend actually sits on two rail tracks and the underside of the carriage is intact: you can see one of the buffers in today's photo.

I love how pretty much everything here at the Last Bus Depot has been recycled. It's like living in a grown up version of the Wombles and I find that deeply satisfying in a way that I wouldn't have anticipated.
