The survivor

It is three weeks since we last had any time at the beach house. Then, there were some flowers out but spring had barely begun. There were many freesias, and there still are plenty. Lots of other plants have begun flowering as well.
One that gives us both great pleasure and satisfaction is the wisteria. Perhaps more than those two responses, the strongest is awe of the strength of this plant's will to live. I have blipped it before, in a number of its stages.
This is the plant which I thought I had killed when we still stayed in the big family home in Herne Bay/Ponsonby. I was trying to make room for a garden seat I was building, and attacked a root system until the gardener (S) saved my energy and the plant. It grew back the next spring.
When we left that house, we took some of the root in a tub. Because we had no room at the apartment for the tubs we had various plants in, they went to the back yard of the house daughter J was in, followed by daughter C. When we remembered and rediscovered these pots, a big one appeared empty. I weeded it and found the root looking healthy enough, so repotted it in a bigger pot, and brought it north to the beach house. Here it continued to survive remaining in the pot until we had done the renovations, and were able to plant it.
Last year it did fairly well, and this year, it is strong and pretty.
