Life in Sunny Dubai

By GadgetKid

Another full and busy day...

Wasn't able to wake early enough to accompany G for her radiotherapy, so SweetArt469 and her went off to do that and then on to Dragon Mart! I went to visit friends/colleagues at old company!

We met up back at the ranch for lunch which was Lebanese. S is missing it terribly not getting good shawarmas in HK, so eating one at every opportunity. Then raced back to Dubai Mall for 3pm for a cooking demo done by founder Chef Antonio Carluccio himself who at 75 is showing no signs of slowing down!

First time I've ever been to one of these so a real experience for me. S has actually been on the other side of the table and taught Indian Cooking in HK and got paid for it! Such an entrepreneur she is.

Demo over, and we got our books signed; then went on to do a spot of shopping before stopping at the Fountain to watch 3 shows. G got chatting with 2 ladies sitting next to her who are on holiday in Dubai and they said today was the first time they met and had a real conversation with people who actually live here! Needless to say, it was a L - O - N - G chat! Had to drag her away...

Walking back to the car, decided S needed to revisit some old haunts so we headed off to Panini at the Grand Hyatt (last pic). We've always loved Panini and today I discovered they do PIES, so I had to try theirs. Not bad at all.

It's been a good day AND the telco man came and setup the hardware required for receiving digital TV channels and hopefully, faster internet. Woo hoo!

Falling asleep over my keyboard now, but I want to see the blips that my blip-buddies have posted...
