Where the sheds used to be

A slow morning for Susan who slept late. I got on with sorting stuff out and going through a whole pile of paperwork which had accumulated in the in tray.

Around lunch time we went back up to Doreen's house to clear things up. While clearing up the broken glass I came across what looked to be a blood spot on the carpet. We called the police again who sent a forensic officer around to take a sample. It may of course, just be a spot of jam.

While Susan finished off I did a bit of shopping for the next few days. Lunch was gone three. After that we went for a long walk calling in at the allotment to see the damage. Fortunately, all the debris had been cleared away so the site didn't look too bad. Susan is standing where our shed used to be.

We learned from the (now ex) chair of the Allotment Committee that according to him the parish council seemed to have washed their hands of any help or support. Also, according to him the council had failed to take out any insurance even though our bill included an insurance premium. They are, it seems, blaming a former clerk. I've asked the council for an explanation as we feel this is an unacceptable situation.

We did pick some beetroot and carrots though. The beetroot was very good with our salad tonight.
