Willow Tea Room..

We got to take a little neighborhood walk in the drizzle this morning before going to the airport so found a  willow tea room for a coffee and scone....with Charles Rennie Mackintosh's furniture, lights and stained glass modeled after the original Kate Cranston tea rooms of the early 1900s.   We were early before they opened at 9 and were warmly welcomed ..just mind the mop she was wielding.! (and I failed to get a photo of!)  ..and served instantly but had the place to ourselves .   I've loved seeing this work as well as the amazing art of his wife which I have never seen... (gesso and tin panels). Everyone in this lively city has gone out of their way to be helpful and friendly!  Now at the airport with time to spare so might as well blip!

Added an extra of the duke of Wellington in front of the modern art museum ...that exhibit that is canceled ..it's just that..empty rooms .  Not sorry to miss it. :-)
