Walking in treelight

This afternoon wasn't sunny by the time we were out - there was blue sky in places, but the sun was behind clouds the whole time. However, the hillside in Benmore Gardens seemed lit by the foliage and illuminated by the brilliance of the moss - I've rarely seen more luminous colours.

This is a glorious jumble of autumn taken beside the upper Japanese archway, looking back down the way we had come. At the moment, I don't know how many of the trees will turn red; there are whole trees of fragile red further down, but the leaves are falling now and some trees will soon be just a golden memory.

Great while it lasts though ...
