If you can't beat them...

Solace Day 9.

Coach and Horses Bridge (number 25 on the Trent and Mersey canal) Why it was given this name I do not know, it certainly is because of the proximity of a pub of the same name.  There doesn't seem to be a centre of habitation nearby.

I find the the old brick bridges with their gracefully curving arches fascinating they look very aesthetic to my eye and the work going in to making them staggering.  Far better than the modern concrete things put up when a new road (or enlarged bridge) passes over the canal.

I took this shot in the morning which was fortunate as the afternoon was rainy.  However we knew of good moorings so pressed on through the locks.  Mooring near bridge 13 (Cuttle Bridge).
