Drastic Gardening

One of my blipfriends said they were going to do some "drastic gardening" today and that's exactly what we have done too:-)  This evergreen was an attractive tree, but it had simply outgrown its place in the garden.  It was restricting the light into our lounge too and killing off all the plants around it, so it had to go.

The tree surgeon who was supposed to be giving us a quote never re-appeared, so TJ decided to do it himself.  I kept out of the way while he was cutting it down, but I was able to offer some help to clear up the masses of branches produced.  

It looks awful now and the stump still has to be dug out ( a job for another day), but we will replace it with something more suitable for that location and that hopefully won't grow as big:-)

A long soak in the bath is now in order for TJ, who will sleep well tonight!
