I was surprised that there were any leaves left on the trees this morning as, apart from these outside the door to the hut, the cars were plastered with them.  It had been a very noisy night with the howling wind and lashing rain, and as it was still persisting this morning no-one had any enthusiasm for another walk.  We chatted and drank copius amounts of tea and coffee, and then did the cleaning and set off for home.  It wasn't the weather that anyone would have chosen for a hut-meet, but you get what you get and we had a good time.

On my way down the track into Coniston there were lots of sheep sheltering against the wall, and if there had been anywhere to stop the other side of the cattle grid my extra would have been a much better photo!
