Graffiti

I dare say the graffiti artists responsible for the desecration of this doorway on Middle Meadow Walk have never heard of the House of Bruar, the up market emporium 10 miles north of Pitlochry, let alone thought to advertise it in such colourful signage. I am sure the owners of House of Bruar much prefer their own gold on black logo, so much more elegant and understated.

Our little corner of the woods seems to attract youths with aerosol paint cans and time on their hands. Most available walls and door ways in the surrounding paths and cobbled lanes are considered legitimate canvases for their daubings. Some are just scribbles, but others show a degree of talent which would be better employed in some other design outlet.

I wonder whether in a thousand years or so (if Trump and Kim Jong -Un don’t exterminate us in the meantime), people will look at any surviving graffiti and place it in the same category as the cave paintings while wondering what the civilisation was that provoked it.
