If you can't beat them...

Texels.

Clickychick was busy at the studio and I spent the morning doing jobs that needed done round the house, it was not weather to tempt me outside.

In the afternoon the sun had come out and CC wanted some shots for her on going project so we set off round the district examining fields.  MY eye was caught at one of the stops by these Texels.

A relatively new breed to our area (well 20 - 30 years) they are capable of rearing twins under most conditions other than the high fells.  Originally from would you believe Texel an island off NW Holland.  The native breeds had been crossed with some English breeds to improve size.  Now they are prolific meaty sheep with a good growth rate.
