Aperture on Life

My Old Girl, Maera

Maera's eyes are covered with a white patina and no longer shine, her chin is white, there are large lumps on her ankles and she walks to heel. All signs and symptoms of her fourteen years.
Yet, she is still beautiful, the most faithful of little dogs and it pains me to know that she's done the best days of her life and she's probably not up to completing a full days work on the field anymore.

I haven't the time at the moment to attend a shoot but hopefully sometime this season I'll find a few days.  The dogs miss it so much. The sound of a gun and they stand to attention and search the sky.  It's what they were both born to and they have always worked well.
