Goat selfie at the donkey sanctuary

What fun we had today on our trip by train and bike to the Scottish Borders Donkey Sanctuary!

First we caught the train from Waverley to Tweedbank. Then we cycled down to the River Tweed to eat our picnic lunch at the chain bridge. There we came across a very friendly horse who photo-bombed our picnic selfie. This set in motion a very silly game of seeking selfies with all other animals encountered over the course of the afternoon. Since we were heading for the donkey sanctuary, this gave us a lot of scope for silliness almost as soon as we had jumped off our bikes and paid our entrance fee.

In the end we notched up five animal selfies, with (1) a horse, (2) a donkey, (3) two goats (as blipped), (4) a pig, and (5) a llama. What a hoot!

Then it was back to Edinburgh on the train for a quick turnaround before we head out again to meet Katharine and Jack for a curry in town this evening.

My extra is a more sensible shot of a couple of donkeys.

Exercise today: cycling (14 miles); walking (8740 steps)
