Hillend to Bonaly - NOT!

What a beautiful day here in sunny Edinburgh so we decided to walk along the Pentland Hills from Hillend Ski Centre to Bonaly. Mmmmmm..................... Best laid plans and all that.........................

Jumped on a number 11 bus and got off at Fairmilehead. Had to walk along the main road to Hillend on my lead. That was a bit boring for a little collie. But once I got to the path that goes up the side of the ski slope I was allowed off my lead so I was all happy and bouncy. Ann wasn't. She'd just swum 70 lengths and found the steep hill climb a bit exhausting. Eventually the path levelled out a bit and Ann said, 'Molly, this path will take us all the way to Bonaly and we will have fabulous views along the way.'

Famous last words. Ann should have looked at a map first. Lol! We walked along the path (and the views were amazing). There were lots of paths going up various hills but Ann said, 'Molly, we'll just stick to the main path. The only place it can go is Bonaly and I haven't got the energy to climb hills.' …..........But then the path started going downhill?! Ann said, 'That's OK Molly. When we get to the bottom of the hill there's sure to be a path that goes across the fields to Bonaly.' Mmmmmm................... there was a path …............but it was behind a locked gate and there was a sign saying it was 'military training ground and do not enter'. In Scotland one has the 'right to roam' in the countryside. Not sure if that extends to military training ground though and neither of us wanted to get shot or blown up!!!

….........So then we had to walk along a track at the side of the Edinburgh Bypass for miles about half a mile and by the time we'd done that Ann said, 'Molly, we might as well just walk home now via the Robert Louis Stevenson walk & the Braidburn Valley Park. So that is what we did.

We've walked 6.2 miles this afternoon....................................... BUT the next time we go for a walk up the Pentlands, Ann has promised that she will bring a map. Lol!!!!

And now Ann's friend, Susi, has popped round for dinner. Ann has made a very nice stuffed chicken breast with red onions, peppers & courgettes, covered with mozeralla cheese. Yay. #justcallherNigella

Susi, very kindly said that Ann could log into her Netfix account but when we went to do that we discovered that three other people are already logged in. So the humans have just watched a couple of comedy's on netfix....................... And now Ann's wondering what else she can watch.

Obviously the holiday makers that we have had staying over the summer have logged in and then not bothered to log out??? So does that mean we can watch stuff on Netfix until they discover that someone is using their log in details???????????????????
