Tiny Tuesday - Circles

A theme of "circles" at Samhain brought thoughts of endings and beginnings to me over my meditative cuppa this morning. This Tiny Tuesday offering is my charter badge from the Charter for Trees, Woods and People. Delightfully cut into the wooden circle are a tiny collection of creatures, leaves, fruits and nuts, and even a footprint to indicate our own impact on the land.

The year moves on and we circle the star that supports all life on this world, and we come again to Samhain. No matter your tradition, spirituality or religion, or lack thereof, the inevitability of endings is worthy of notice. 

Death is often a taboo subject, and whether we laugh at death through Halloween, celebrate it through festivals or simply honour it as we raise a glass to ancestors and loved ones gone into mystery, this time of year calls forth images both unsettling and comforting.
