Ballade

A quick meet in Swinton, and then a city centre day. The morning in Manchester's part of the city centre, an afternoon on Salford's side of the Irwell.

Travelling to my afternoon destination I passed Manchester Cathedral. Being  a bit early I had time (5 minutes) to pop in, and was surprised to find a fair sized audience listening attentively. It was a lunchtime concert, with three students from Chetham's playing pieces on the piano consecutively. I arrived in the middle of the last piece. 17 year old Dominika from Poland was playing Chopin's Ballade No 2 in F Major. It was fantastic, and amazing to hear a youngster playing with such virtuosity.

The extras feature the Eagle pub in Greengate, which we passed, and local hero John Cooper Clarke
