Fishing in the soft autumn morning light

Friends Al and Liz came over for the day, a bit of respite care for them both as they've been having major heart surgery on their house over recent weeks. The kitchen is being renovated and they've had central heating installed and various other jobs done so they're camping out in their own house.

We had time before they came for a brisk trot around Mote Park and to Tesco's for supplies of beer. Allotment soup for lunch followed by a trip to the farming equivalent of Ikea - Macknades - in Faversham. Here we both bought lots of things we didn't know we needed along with items we did need; like a large quantity of picking onions for me.

The beef bourguignon which I cooked yesterday followed on from Auntie (long deceased) Florrie's Tea Loaf which in turn was followed by Tart Tatin with Bramley apples from Doreen's tree. Then we subjected them to our photos from the Rockies, which wasn't too bad as its an area they know well and haven't been to for some years.
