Quite a full day today! This morning I was helping out at the annual Fairer World Fair, run by Dumfries Fairtrade Group. Big celebrations because Dumfries and Galloway has just become a Fairtrade Zone, so there were speeches and cake-cutting and photo opportunities for press and politicians.

In the afternoon I escaped with Jess to Mabie Forest. We did the brown walk (5 miles) in glorious sunshine. there were a couple of these sewn signs hanging in the trees - this was my favourite.

In the evening we had been invited along to a firework display, all arranged by a group of neighbours who live about a mile away. We walked there and back by the light of the almost-full moon. There was a huge bonfire and a surprising number of fireworks.

Home for butternut squash soup and sourdough bread. Fruit and veg count now 22...
