The Blue Footed Booby

Today we flew from Quito via Guayaquil to Balta and after passing Fluffy the sniffer dogs test we were bussed to the quay and loaded onto the pangas to take us to Ocean Spray which was to be our home for the next 8 days.

After lunch and an introduction to the ship and crew , a reminder of the park rules, and a life vest drill we did a quick motor to North Seymour Island and did our first walk amongst gulls, frigate birds nesting, doves, land iguanas, sea lions, yellow warblers and of course the Blue Footed Booby.  We did not see as many again on any Island and so here it is set against the Galapagean sunset.

Back to the boat for more welcomes with the crew and we were then off on a long trek to the Western side of Isabela Island where we would arrive in the wee hours of the morning and the start of many more adventures.  Happy Days.

Edit, I have put a fur seal and her baby up in the extra as this was the only time we saw them.
