Home cooking

‘If you are careful,' Garp wrote, 'if you use good ingredients, and you don't take any shortcuts, then you can usually cook something very good. Sometimes it is the only worthwhile product you can salvage from a day; what you make to eat.’

The sun shone - a cold day though. Megan went to Glentress with Air squadron, while Angus hung around the house wearing my dad’s old sheepskin coat.  I mucked around outside, fixing up the chicken fence and wrapping apples for storage.

After dark, leaving a tidy house, I take the youth into Edinburgh. Angus goes home, hands full of records, perishables and bike lights. Megan gets left outside Thai Caravan in Bristo Square - a place so happening that the queue stretches into the cold, dark night.

I proceed to Kinghorn, where Claire is putting the finishing touches to a Gousto fish dish. Their meals are very good, but there’s an awful lot of packaging!

After dinner treat is rewriting an rsync script to be bi-directional. Woot!
