It's a long and winding road...

Yep, we are home after a long journey from Bombala in the south of the state. We came via Cooma, Canberra, Boorowa and Cowra. ( lots of Towns starting with C) the cat was pleased to have us home, he is talking a lot. We collected Tom from Ninas place and he is now curled up asleep in his bed. Happy.

I like this blip even though it is through a dirty windscreen. We woke up to very cold temperatures and rain which cleared to a lovely day. This shows typical country on the far southern highlands (1110m altitude) called the Monaro district. There are rolling hills and few settlements. I like the uneven line of power poles and matching old fence. This area was settled in the 1830s judged by the inscription on some of the old buildings.

Today saw the running of the Melbourne Cup, our best known horse race. I haven't heard the news lately and we must be the only Aussies who haven't watched it....
