T for Tradition

I've blipped a tiny pin in the form of a Poppy for TT this week -  the link to the challenge being the TRADITION  of  wearing Poppies and Poppy pins as a symbol of remembrance and hope.  My mother had a most beautiful silk poppy that had belonged to my Grandmother, the family were poor and although they wanted to support the Poppy Fund there was never enough money.  The story went that each year Grandmother would bring out the poppy and wash and iron it, ready to be worn again. Apparently this continued for a number of years until times improved .
