So L and I took advantage of a special offer on Scotrail for free tickets to somewhere. There were a range of potential destinations and we thought we'd go on a day trip to somewhere we hadn't been before and picked Helensburgh without knowing much about it. Probably the most famous sight-to-see in the town is The Hill House, designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. So we walked up the hill only to discover that it closes for the winter at the end of October - doh! So we wandered back down the hill, had an excellent all-day breakfast of poached eggs and smoked salmon at PJ's and then looked round the shops before getting our train back home. An enjoyable trip!
