Pisac

We left Cusco this morning driving along the Sacred Valley.  It is a most spectacular trip in the valley between the Andes.  Named as it follows the milky way we were told.

Aside from Miradors (lookouts) our first stop was the Inca terraces at Pisac.  I have put an extra up of the terraces.  This was the view of the entrance.

From there we went down into the markets looking at first the local markets and then the tourist markets where Gail got her baby Alpaca jumper and now we each have one.  It was interesting to see that a baby alpaca jacket I bought 20 years ago is still being sold there.

From there we had lunch near Urabamba in a converted monastery with a most beautiful garden.

It was then to Ollyantaytambo and a prelude to Huayana Picchu tomorrow climbing up the Incan terraces to the temple.

We were then taken to the train station where we caught the train to Aguas Calientes.  The scenery was spectacular with some glimpses of high glaciers and impressive mountains.  I don't remember it being so beautiful when I was last here.

We are now fed and watered and need an early night as we are meeting out guide at 6 am tomorrow.  Hasta manana.
