Wound up in Wexford

Replacement rug

After saying goodbye to Fido, we decided we were able to remove the many rugs around the house that were there primarily for his comfort.

The black rug in the entrance hall wasn't there just for him, but latterly he had spent a lot of time sleeping on it, and had had a few accidents, so it had to go.

Once removed, the hall was very echoey, so we decided to find a replacement.  The black rug had been a little wider than we ideally wanted, but when we started looking, it turned out that finding a longish, narrow (but not as narrow as a true runner) rug was going to be difficult.

Eventually we found an internet site that sold a huge variety of rugs, both old and new, and ended up looking at many antique/semi-antique Persian rugs.  My favourites - as is so often the case (I maintain it is because I have good taste) - turned out to be some of the more expensive, so we eventually lashed out a substantial sum for this one.  Very impressive service - we ordered it on Wednesday morning, and it arrived this morning.

We're very pleased with it - it makes an excellent contribution to the feel as you come in the house.

I should have been working this evening, but after a rubbish night again, I have spent the day doing almost nothing, and am about to retire to bed again.
