In My World

Daylight savings

The debate about daylight savings continues in Queensland, and again they have decided to stay on normal time.

This isn't a problem if you live well into New South Wales or Queensland, but when you are living on the border, it can be a nightmare!

My son goes to school in Queensland and we live in NSW, so now he has to leave home at 8 am instead of 7, but will be home at 6 pm, instead of 5, if he catches the bus all the way home! Some days he catches a lift home from Tweed Heads with his dad, so he arrives home earlier.

There's another disadvantage...our business is in NSW, but we have a number of clients who live, and/or work in Queensland, so my husband's work days are longer during daylight saving's, as he has to fit in with the times of both states to suit people.

There is word (again!) that Queensland are considering coming in line with the eastern states next year.

I won't be holding my breath waiting!

So again, we turn the clocks forward by an hour, and wait for the confusion to begin!
