Evening Light at Steel Rigg, Hadrian's Wall

About 10 of us from our camera club had a day out on the Roman Wall. We parked at Steel Rigg and wandered between there and Sycamore Gap taking lots of photos.

The sycamore is one of the most photographed trees in the country. So I decided not to bore everyone with yet another photo of it (it was "tree of the year" in 2016). However we were very lucky with the late evening light so the main photo shows the scene viewing south from Steel Rigg and the extra shows the lovely sunset we saw. Both photos were taken actually from the top of the wall itself.

The photos are best viewed large against black.
