Strutting out

Our day has again been dominated by trying to get a food order delivered 240 miles away. Third time lucky, 9.15pm this evening. We will have to see what the next week brings.

This afternoon we went for a walk along the Weaver, a favourite or ours. This bridge crosses the point where the old course of the river connects back into the canalised section, just down from Dutton Locks.

Prior to this we saw flocks of fieldfares - our first of the autumn for us. And on the way back we saw a flock of redwings - our first of that winter thrush too. I've seen a couple of flocks of winter thrushes these last weeks, but these were our first positive identifications, good views of both feasting on the hedgerow haws.

The extra is a view I have blipped before - the Chica, registered in Liverpool, which is gradually falling apart.
