Gallery Space

An afternoon of art up at the Gallery of Modern Art, and despite my misgivings it was all quite engaging. And that was even without coffee and cake. There was a bit of Ken Currie with his deid skate, Ed Ruscha and some Los Angeles stuff but the main event was NOW with Susan Philipsz’ Seven Tears... seven synchronised record players, each playing a single tone taken from Lachrimae, a collection of instrumental music composed in 1604 by John Dowland. Rather good - as was her work around Marconi’s ship Elettra. All fine and bracing. Home to make lists! We actually have a list of lists. These are the known lists.
