Final 'tweakings'

Began the day cooking another pudding (as you do!) then up to the theatre for a full dress rehearsal. The 2 hens arrived, Rebecca and Lucy christened by our director's 3 year old.
They behaved beautifully as did the members of the cast who had to handle them! The whole rehearsal went very well, perhaps the best we have done it, hope we haven't peaked too soon! At the end we discovered our beloved director had left having received a message that his wife had gone into hospital. She is due to give birth any day now! Huge excitement, lots of back slapping and it was finally time to leave in good time. I brought the hens back and put them in the pen prepared for them here. Bella, the cat from next door was far too interested so I had to stand guard trying to decide what to do. My neighbour has agreed we can use their covered 'run,' so for the night my 2 little hens are safe in their house and will move down the road tomorrow. I am so disappointed they can't stay in the garden but naughty Bella can't be trusted and there isn't time to build a more secure 'run'.
Pud number 5 cooking, due out 8pm, last one in the morning - hurray!
