Quod oculus meus videt

Another addition

There's always an 'ah' moment when one of the mares at the stables gives birth.  Initially, the foal is very wary of people, staying close to its mother, often placing itself on her far side.

This colt is a few months old now and has been moved into a small paddock adjacent to the track.  he has lost that initial wariness and was quite content to be rubbed and patted this morning.  he even tried to find out if I'd got any treats in my pockets.  It's a little bit of a cliched shot, but I imagine there are many ladies that would die for eyelashes this long?  I'm not quite so sure that the special hairs that grow below the eye would be appreciated quite so much!
