a lifetime burning

Encore!

Caravan at the Komedia in Bath this evening  -  I couldn't decide whether to go for this shot, or the extra ... which is a shot of multi-instrumentalist Geoffrey Richardson playing the viola. Geoffrey is an amazing musician - this evening he played viola, flute, mandolin, electric guitar and electric spoons (you really have to see it), and appears to be terribly comfortable with any instrument he picks up.  The list of sessions on which he has played is a long one and includes: Kevin Ayers, Café Jacques, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, The Buzzcocks, Justin Hayward, Bob Geldorf and Chris de Burgh etc.

Caravan - a great British (Canterbury in this case) prog rock band from the late 60's early 70's and beyond.  They shared so much with bands such as Jethro Tull, Airport Convention, Barclay James Harvest, the Strawbs and Yes, but never really managed to make it big.  Who knows why? But in the end, its great to see them still touring, still with an enthusiastic audience - long may they continue
