Backblip - Mary and I arrived at the R.L. hut in Langdale to find a couple of folk already there, but the kettle wasn't on and the fire wasn't lit.... tut tut!

Because the hut belongs to a men-only club the upstairs dorm is designated Men Only, with those who are not men supposed to sleep in the outside annexe which is not ideal from a location point of view.  However when we'd put our bags in there we found that the smell of damp was very srong, with the back wall being quite black, so we moved inside and up to the men's dorm.  

On hut meets it's normal for the dorms to be mixed, but when a couple of the hut members arrived we politely checked that it was ok with them for women to be in there.  Actually we were quite lucky that there were enough beds as the turnout from Skyline MC was unusually high and unforeseen, because unfortunately many members just will not commit to a weekend until the last minute.... which is a bit unsatisfactory.
