Above And Beyond...

River Wye

For no particular reason we decided on a drive to Chepstow, the home town of Mrs BB, to have a walk around as the weather was drey and wet. Mrs BB declared the town had gone further downhill since her last visit with too many charity chops. It does have one jewel in it's crown and that is of Chesptow Castle built from 1067 under direction of Norman Lord William fitzOsbern to control the Welsh! (Up until 1962 it boasted the oldest castle doors in Europe (800 years old) but are now on display inside to preserve them.)

The blip photo is taken of the Old Wye Bridge,  constructed in 1816 of wrought iron, and connects Wales with Tutshill, Gloucester (England) , with Chesptow Castle to the right which is built on top of the cliff.
