Quod oculus meus videt

Final Leaves of Autumn

The first snow of winter.  Unfortunately, it wasn't the picturesque variety and anyway I was driving to the supermarket at the time.  By the time I came out it was already slushy and melting.

A little later on, heading up to the Chase for riding duties, it returned, but still wasn't sticking.  We didn't really want sleety rain while out with the horse and luckily it did dry up.  We didn't stay out long, but I was quite pleased to see some sunshine illuminating the remaining leaves on this silver birch and a patch of bracken below.  Try as I might I couldn't make sense of a single image in post processing, so applied the Pep Ventosa approach instead.
