World Cup Ondoor Cycling - Volunteer Training

Very lazy morning, in fact after tea and paper in bed, followed later by breakfast in bed, we watched a show and finally got out at noon! It was lovely and really helped my sore head. We stopped by the Canadian Tire store to pick up the final remaining items for a gift for our lovely neighbour's baby Micah born 5 days ago (whom we got to meet when we dropped it off). Then on to our 3 hr volunteer training session at the Milton Velodrome (about 25 minute drive north of us). We ended with a tour of the facility, picking up our volunteer teeshirts and volunteer passes, then watching some practice training. It was so cool to spend time in such a world class facility and watch the Canadian athletes train. I cannot get over the steepness of the slope to ride on, it banks 42 degrees. One of our team leaders says he trains on a 52 degree slope! Oh my! It runs December 1-3 and will be televised internationally. The lower photo is inside watching the cyclists and a young boys basketball tournament and the upper photo is of the velodrome as we were leaving at sunset (you can see the half moon above).
