Leopard on High

In the new Marischal Square development there is this leopard looking down on the people below. A pair of leopards feature in the Aberdeen coat of arms, and there are leopards on the Union Bridge.

The leopard in the covered atrium of a part of the Marischal Square complex stands five metres tall, weighs just over two tonnes, and sits on a 10-metre high steel column. It was designed and built by Andy Scott.

Unfortunately unless I get a job in one of the offices overlooking the leopard I can only see it from below, while it is perched on the pole looking down as though it might pounce at any moment.

A day of showers, first rain and then hail in the afternoon as the temperature became colder.
