Nicky and her Nikon

A winter's day

This morning Murdoch went to the vet for his annual vaccinations and his 3 yearly rabies jab. The vet we use is such a lovely man, he is so sensible and gives good, practical advice, and even Murdoch warmed to him and let him poke about examining his teeth and prodding and pressing as he got a thorough all over body check. He is extremely healthy for an 11 year old dog. I asked him about his diet as he has been on the same food for ages now but seems very happy on it - he said he was more than happy with what we feed Murdoch and it was quite clear he is not a fan of the latest trend of the raw food diet - he said he had 3 dogs in this week (he says its very popular in Surrey!) very, very ill with parasites and colon problems due to the raw food diet. I know a few blippers use the raw food diet and I guess one does what works best for their dogs, but Murdoch has always been very healthy and happy on his dried food diet so no point changing that at this stage of his life.

Then I took Murdoch home and went back to go grocery shopping - I took a photo of the river as I passed it this morning. I was planning on doing something different for Flower Friday but I have spent the whole afternoon trying to stack all the flower images together in Photoshop and it just won't work, so I gave up in frustration and loaded the river image instead. It was another beautiful bright and sunny day, but still so cold. I have also spent ages preparing my images for our camera group meeting next week, as we had quite a bit of homework to do. We had to capture images showing the passing of time, restore some old photos and age some modern photos. All quite a bit of fun but at the same time rather challenging due to my limited Photoshop knowledge.

Adam went to Tignes last night for the inter varsity ski competition against Oxford. It is already the end of term for him, although he has so much work to do these holidays that the term does not truly end - the irony of the 8 week Cambridge University terms. He has a few days of training out there before the competition races start next week. This year they are hoping to beat Oxford as they have a very good team. With the recent cold weather they have excellent snow there for skiing which is good for them.

I now have to dash to Thomas' school as we are going to see the school play/musical Chess. He is in the orchestra providing the music for the show. He has had a performance every night since Tuesday and tomorrow after their rugby matches he has to return to school for the final performance. It has been a tiring week for him.
