The Woodland Waltz

There's a slight sneer today as I walk through Westonbirt Arboretum. I'm not a fan of the rope barrier and the charming panto lighting that semi-urbanises the woodland... but it's that time of year again.

Bah and indeed humbug.

But they do try hard, and I'm sure it's a money spinner without which the arboretum would not thrive as a going concern. Everyone else loves it, so it's just me. Again. And the sparkly ball is ever so pretty...

Actually, despite the couple of mirror pieces that are missing I do like the effect of the silver disco ball, hanging up there and in the middle of the day lit only by sunlight in the hues of sky and leaf and earth.

Don't mind me. It's been a trying day.
