Sparkly shiny things

Who would have thought it? One year on. Obviously it doesn't work for everyone, and it's not the only causal factor, but truly having a knee replacement has been life-changing for me. I've dropped at least 10 kilos since the operation, probably more because I don't exactly know what I weighed at the time of the operation. And a couple of trouser sizes. And I've enjoyed walking, taking exercise, and, well, life generally. In fact, I'd say I've  been enjoying life more than ever, even just simple things in the locality.

Today was a case in point. We slept in a bit later than during the week, so it was almost light when we got up. It turned into a pretty good day, weatherwise, so after breakfast we dropped everything and headed out round our usual short potter. Loads of great images as the snow had gone crispy overnight, then coffee at Regatta (indoors this time).

Back out a little later and over to the Taidehalli to see an exhibition of Finnish paintings, which really added some context to our understanding of Finnish life and culture. Then back to Arkadia, which is almost next door to the Taidehalli, to enjoy a concert of Finnish folk music by NBB.

What could be better than a day comprising walking, coffee, art, music and books? Oh, and now a lovely bottle of red, courtesy of Mr A, to celebrate "one year on".

Good days.
