Moonset On Foggy Peak

The sky was cloudy and I didn’t expect to see the moon setting, but the clouds didn’t go all the way down to the mountains. This shot and the one in Extras were taken within a minute of each other, (at 5.52 am). Tonight there is a supermoon and I’d love to see it. However, as it will be rising late and I need to travel some distance to get a view of it I might miss out.

Foggy Peak is the southern end of the Torlesse Range. The snow-clad peaks to the left are part of the Craigieburn Range, and they are deeper into the Southern Alps than the Torlesse Range.
