Burr elm

Busy day followed by a busy, but fun, evening! A surprise visit from Janet, then off to Alan and Judith's pre-Christmas music-session evening - good food, good company and... red wine.

Failed to take a camera, so it's another late-night shot from the workshop. A few years ago I accompanied MrM to a wood yard. As well as acquiring some wood for instrument making, we also bought some beautiful burr elm for our own use - at the time, I seem to remember MrM muttering something about making "a nice piece of furniture" with it. So far we have a burr-elm window sill, and now MrM has purloined some to use in instruments. It looks very lovely decorating the sound hole of this guitar, but where's my coffee table?!
