But, then again . . . . .

Linus Quilts.

It was another Wednesday that I should have been out cycling, but with a bee keeping meeting to prepare for, including making bread, it was not really an option. It is a longstanding tradition that I take cheese sandwiches to these affairs and people seem to think my home (machine) made bread is vital. The problem with home-made bread is its shelf life; you have to leave it to cool long enough to be (relatively) easy to slice, but not so long that it is stale before being eaten; the margin for error is quite small.

Meanwhile, Mrs TD wanted a picture for the association newsletter of the Linus quilts she has collected. I’m not sure of the reason for this as I would have thought that all the readers would have seen a quilt before. Any road up, she carefully arranged them on the floor while simultaneously trying to prevent Merlin from walking, or worse still - slobbering, all over them; and I stood on a chair with camera, fitted with a flash and an umbrella to provide a soft light. It proved to be a wee bit cumbersome so I have indented for a more portable flash modifier for Christmas. Each quilt bears a label which reads, “A quilt is a hug you can keep. Lovingly made by …” and another one with the washing instructions; they have been cunningly concealed by judiciously folding and overlaying the quilts. They will be winging their way to the various needy children in the New Year so that they don’t get lost in the excitement that is Christmas.
