Festive Hexham

A huge sigh of relief on going in to the office this morning to find an email informing me that no more amendments are required to the reports! Thank goodness!

As soon as I got back from work, MrM and I set off for Hexham with Andrea with the intention of looking round the Christmas market. There were lots of stalls with some wonderful hand-made goodies for sale. Unfortunately, we were too late to look round many of them as the market closed at 7.00pm, but we did buy some very expensive locally made chocolate and Andrea made a couple of purchases too. The poor stallholders  must have been quite relieved when it shut for the night, as they'd been standing outside for several hours in subzero temperatures.

We warmed up in a fish restaurant and enjoyed a fish supper before wandering round the streets of Hexham for a while. Was hoping for a shot of the Abbey with the Christmas tree - looked lovely, but there were too many vans and road signs in front of it for a decent photo. So a rather shaky-looking nighttime shot of a side street it is.
